WHO MAY ENROLL AT CAL PREP?

WHO MAY ENROLL AT CAL PREP?

If your child has an Individualized Education Program (IEP), please contact your child's Case Carrier regarding placement in an independent study school. The IEP placement meeting must be held before a student can enroll into Cal Prep.

Please note: Online learning is not for everyone. It requires a great deal of self-discipline and self-monitoring, which are common characteristics of independent learners. Online classes also require a great deal of reading and interacting with others through the use of discussion boards and instant messaging.
SPRING 2024 ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

SPRING 2024 ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

To enroll for Spring 2024 and you are seeking to be a full-time or dual-enrolled student (majority of your classes at Cal Prep) it is required that you attend a one-hour information meeting. During the meeting, you will learn about Cal Prep's classes, online learning management systems, dual-enrollment with your resident high school, requirements of being a Cal Prep student, and more. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions.  At the end of the meeting, you will be given instructions about enrollment, which will include an in-person visit to Cal Prep to turn in forms and choose classes.

Math (except for Geometry and Personal Finance) and PE are not available as single courses. Some subjects may be full and not available for the Spring 2024 semester. Single course students are not required to attend an information meeting, but it is recommended to learn about Cal Prep.
EXTRA CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR PROGRAMS

EXTRA CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR PROGRAMS

Cal Prep students have the opportunity to participate in co-curricular programs, extra curricular activities, athletic team sports, and fine arts programs (band, orchestra, theater) at their CUSD "home" high school, as per CUSD Board Policy. This is a unique opportunity that is not commonly available to students attending online schools. Audition and try-out requirements apply.
