As a reminder, the Cal Prep graduation policy that students/parents signed upon enrollment is as follows:
2024-2025 High School Diploma and Graduation Policies
1. Per Board Policy 6146.1, a senior who is enrolled (full-time or dual enrolled) in Cal Prep Academy
on the first day of the spring semester of high school and meets all graduation requirements will
receive a diploma from California Preparatory Academy and not from the resident CUSD high
school.
2. If a senior is a full-time at Cal Prep Academy on the first day of the spring semester of high school
and meets all graduation requirements, the student will be eligible to walk in Cal Prep’s graduation.
3. If a senior is enrolled at Cal Prep Academy and is dual-enrolled at their resident CUSD high school
and meets all graduation requirements, the student will be eligible to walk in Cal Prep’s graduation
ceremony and the student’s resident CUSD high school’s graduation ceremony, as long as the student
is taking at least one class at their resident CUSD high school and successfully passes that class or
classes. The student is responsible for notifying their resident CUSD high school that they will walk
in the graduation ceremony.
4. If a senior is dual-enrolled at their resident high school, then they are responsible for ordering or
borrowing their cap and gown from their resident CUSD high school. Students may wear the cap and
gown from their resident CUSD high school to Cal Prep’s graduation ceremony.
5. If a senior is full-time at Cal Prep Academy, the student is responsible for ordering a cap and gown
from Jostens or requesting to borrow a cap and gown from Cal Prep.
